SIFI 2022

The sixth Sarajevo Innovations Festival powered by Telemach Foundation took place on November 12, 2022, at the Europa Hotel in Sarajevo.

Nine outstanding teams composed of students from technical faculties and even high school students competed in the field of science. Telemach Foundation, as the main partner, supported STELEKS (Student Association of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Sarajevo) in organizing this event.

The students presented a diverse range of scientific projects, both theoretical and practical. Reviewers evaluated their works, and an expert jury assessed their presentations and performances at the event. This year, the expert jury consisted of Maja Tursunović, Director of Telemach Foundation, academician Professor Dr. Almir Badnjević, and Assistant Professor Dr. Almir Salihbegović.

After the event and presentations, participants voted for the best work among themselves, which was honored with the "Dr. Branislava Peruničić" award. The award was presented by Professor Branislava herself to Isam Vrce, a student at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Sarajevo, who impressed his fellow colleagues with his work on "Almond Classification Using Expert-Generated Labels and Supervised Learning Algorithms." Isam also garnered the favor of the jury and reviewers, as his work secured the third place.

Proving that it was worth attending the Sarajevo Innovations Festival, students from the University of Niš, Nikola Stojiljković, Nikola Milenković, and Hristina Todorović, secured the second place with their work on "Speed and Direction Control of a DC Motor Using L293D IC and ARM Architecture Microcontroller."

Faris Mehmedović, a fifth-year master's student at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Sarajevo, wrote about "Accelerating Inference Process for Deep Learning Methods with OpenVINO Toolkit." His remarkable work and presentation were recognized by both reviewers and the esteemed jury, propelling Faris to the first place."
